Located nearby Kathmandu valley, Helambu circuit trekking is one of the amazing treks to observe the big mountains of Langtang and jugal range. Helambu Circuit Trekking also well-known as “Yolmo Heritage” is an easy, naturally and geographically fascinating trekking tour that visitors can experience the mountains of Majestic Himalayan scenery, great opportunity to experience Green Landscapes and unique Yolmo Culture. This trekking area is close to Kathmandu and easy access with low elevation. The trek passes through some beautiful rhododendron, pine and oak forests and interesting Nepal Villages en route. During the trip, we visit the homes of Brahmins, Tamangs and Sherpas tribes of Nepal. The ranges of mountains that rise above us match the diversity of the people. From low altitudes, we have excellent views of mountains that include the Langtang Range, the Annapurnas, Manaslu and even Everest on a clear day. It is located something about 70km north of Kathmandu Valley, it is an area inhabited by Sherpas, Tamags and Chetrries. The language, culture and dress of the Helambhu Sherpas are very different from those who live in Khumbu area and Rolwaling. The region is very famous place for Thanka arts.

Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival in Nepal, Transfer to Hotel

Upon your arrival at the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by our representative. After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc), pick up your luggage and look for our representative with the Altitude Trails & Adventures display board at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to your hotel, nearby Thamel as per your requirement. Thamel has great food from all over the world, fabulous shopping and Durbar square with its several temples and markets are nearby Thamel. Overnight at the hotel

Day 2

Trip preparation and meeting with guide

After breakfast, We will have a briefing session about the trip. Our guide will describe the trek, geographic structure, custom and traditions and about the daily events: trek duration, attractions and share other information. We will also assist you with the trekking gears and help you navigate around stores in Thamel to get them. After the preparation, if time permits, we will do a little sightseeing around Kathmandu Durbar square and Thamel.

Day 3

Drive to Melamchi Bazaar (5hrs), Trek to kakani (1988, 2hrs)

On this day, you'll start early and head to Melamchi Bazaar, which is about a 5-hour drive from Kathmandu. Once you reach there, you will have lunch break. Afterward, you'll go on a 2-hour trek to Kakani. This trekking trail goes through beautiful natural scenery, like forests and small villages. When you arrive in Kakani, you’ll witness breathtaking mountain views. You'll stay overnight in Kakani and have dinner there.

Day 4

Trek to Sermathang (2590m, 5/6hrs)

On Day 4, you'll set out early and trek from Kakani to Sermathang at the altitude of 2590m which will take about 5 to 6 hours, offering breathtaking mountain views. The trails offer lush forest of several Flora. When you reach Sermathang, take some time to explore and appreciate the peaceful surroundings. Sermanthang is famous for its apple and apricot-producing area. You'll spend the night there, having dinner at your accommodation

Day 5

Trek to Tarkeyghyang (2600m, 5/6hrs)

After having a delicious breakfast, you’ll continue your trek to Tarkeyghyang at the altitude of 2600m, which will take around 5-6 hours. Today we will see more mountains. The trails pass through lush forest with several flora and faunas. When you reach Tarkeyghyang, explore the village and experience the local culture and meet the friendly locals. You'll spend the night there, having dinner at your accommodation.

Day 6

Trek to Melamchi gau (2520m, 4/5hrs)

On Day 6, you'll have a great morning in Tarkeyghyang with a hearty breakfast before embarking on the trek to Melamchi Gau at the altitude of 2520m. This leg of your journey is estimated to take around 4 to 5 hours and promises more stunning mountain views and the natural beauty of the area. You can find local tea houses or stalls for refreshments along the way. Once you arrive in Melamchi Gau, take your time to explore the village and immerse yourself in its beautiful surroundings. You might have the opportunity to engage with the friendly locals and experience their way of life.

Day 7

Trek to Thadepati (3690m, 5/6hrs)

After having breakfast in Melamchi Gau as you prepare for the next leg of your journey. Today's destination is Thadepati, which is the highest point you will reach in Helumbu Circuit Trek, which is at an altitude of 3690 meters. The trek is anticipated to take around 5 to 6 hours, and as you ascend, you'll be rewarded with even more awe-inspiring views of the majestic mountains and the pristine natural beauty of the region. On the way you’ll encounter several tea houses where you can have a quick refreshment break. Upon reaching Thadepati, take some time to explore the higher-altitude surroundings, where the climate may be cooler, so be prepared for the change. Come evening, you'll have dinner at your chosen accommodation, which may be a guesthouse or teahouse.

Day 8

Trek to Kutumsang (2470m, 5/6hrs)

On the eighth day of your journey, you will continue your trek from Thadepati to Kutumsang which is at the altitude of 2470m. After having a warm breakfast at Thadepati you will continue your trek to Kutumsang which will take 5-6 hours, offering stunning landscapes views. The trail passes through several Tea houses. After reaching Kutumsang you can explore the village and get a chance to experience their culture. After that you will have your dinner at Kutumsang and stay overnight.

Day 9

Trek to Chisapani (2215m, 6/7hrs)

As you embark on the ninth day of your journey, begin your morning with a wholesome breakfast at your accommodation in Kutumsang. Your destination for the day is Chisapani, situated at an altitude of 2215 meters. The trek ahead will consume about 6 to 7 hours. You will follow the trail of Helambu Trek, passing through Pati Bhanjyan, Thankune Bhanjyang, and Golphu Bhanjyang to reach Kutumsang.

Day 10

Trek to Sundarijal (5hrs), Drive to Kathmandu (1350m, 6hrs)

Beginning with breakfast at Chisapani, we will prepare to walk for 5 hours to reach Sundarijal and from there drive to Kathmandu which will take another 6 hours of drive. We will walk through the lush forest enriched with various flora and fauna to reach Chisapani.

Day 11

Leisure/ Departure, Transfer to Airport

If you have an Extra day and want to travel to more places in Nepal, we will assist to entertain your further stay. Or If you have a departing flight from Nepal, Our team will accompany you to the airport.
