Gokyo Lake trek is a not more than 13 days exciting journey to the beautiful Gokyo lakes which will be worthwhile for the every penny you spend.

Gokyo is among the most popular tourist destinations leading towards the Sagarmatha base camp and other areas. Gokyo village at 4,790 metres (15,720 ft) elevation is a major centre in the area. The site is two days walk uphill from  Namche bazaar. A visit to the area often includes climbing Gokyo ri.

The Gokyo Lakes are also part of an extended Everest Base Camp trek known as the EBC trek via Gokyo Lakes. This trek is commonly hiked by people with slightly more time to trek as the trail is 4 days longer than the standard EBC trek. The Gokyo Lakes trek also has the added benefit of being a circular route as opposed to the standard EBC trek which returns along the same trail.

Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri Trek is a beautiful journey to the enticing Gokyo lakes and Gokyo Ri which is one of the most amazing viewpoints for great views of Everest and other Himalayas. The 14-day trip begins in Kathmandu where we visit several heritage sites. The Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri Trek is an alternative to classical treks in the Everest region. Instead, it takes us to the turquoise Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri which provides exceptional views of Everest and the Himalayas. We also get to marvel at the massive Ngozumpa Glacier and the Gokyo valley from Gokyo Ri.

Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri trek is for those who like to walk in the Everest region without the physical stress of reaching the base camp of Everest or crossing high passes in the vicinity. It is instead for travelers who wish to try something new in the Everest region.  However, for trekkers who want to reach the base camp of the world’s tallest mountain then Everest Base Camp trek is ideal. Another option for trekkers who like to conquer high mountain passes in the Everest region is the Everest three pass trek.

The best way to acclimatize is walking at high altitude and sleeping at lower altitude. So, on our 3rd day of trekking, we will hike up to an elevation of 3850M.
Early in the morning, After breakfast we’ll hike up to the Everest view point. At Namche, From the hotel we will be staying, we can observe Mt. Kantega, Thamserku. From the Everest viewpoint, we’ll get the first glimpse of Mt. Everest along with Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Thamserku and other surrounding peaks. Afterwards, we’ll visit the Sagarmatha museum and hike towards Khumjung via Syangboche. On the way, we can observe the Syangboche airport, and visit the Everest view hotel.
