The trek also provides stunning views of the majestic Himalayas. To embark on this adventure, one must first undertake a day-long journey from Kathmandu to SyabruBesi, which typically takes around 6 hours by road. Syabru Besi serves as the starting point for the Langtang Valley Trek. As one progresses along the trail, the final settlement in the Langtang Valley is Kyanjin Gompa, located at an elevation of 3800 meters. A popular side excursion from Kyanjin Gompa is the day hike to Tserko Ri or Kyanjin Ri, offering even more spectacular vistas of the surrounding landscapes. It is worth noting that Langtang Village, tragically, was devastated by a massive landslide during the earthquake in April 2015. However, a resilient community of locals has since rebuilt a new Langtang Village adjacent to the original one, demonstrating their determination and commitment to preserving their way of life in this remarkable region.
