Chulu West Peak Climbing is a part of bigger Damodar Himalayan Range of Manang district in western Nepal. It is located at the North- East part of the famous Annapurna Mountain Range. This trekking route offers you magnificent views of Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and many other adjoined mountains. The very first ascent of this prestigious peak was made by a Japanese Expedition Team in 1953.
Though this peak is a permitted trekking peak, it is little more technical in comparison to Chulu Far East Peak (6,059m). Therefore, if you are hoping to step high upon Chulu West Peak, you must have the good physical condition and high level of stamina. This exciting Chulu West Peak Expedition brings you closer to tranquil landscape, lush vegetation, traditional cultural heritage, and the classic mountains. Annapurna itself is the world’s one of the most beautiful region. Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna stand as the pinnacle of the entire western region.
Chulu West has also used a climbing peak for preparing before summiting 8000 m peaks. Peak Climbing requires you to be physically and mentally fit as it requires a lot of physical effort as a well high level of stamina. We will also get the opportunity to experience the different ethnic culture of Nepalese society.

Itineraries
Day 1
Arrival in Nepal, Transfer to hotel
Upon your arrival at the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by our representative. After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc), pick up your luggage and look for our representative with the Altitude Trails & Adventures display board at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to your hotel, nearby Thamel as per your requirement. Thamel has great food from all over the world, fabulous shopping and Durbar square with its several temples and markets are nearby Thamel. Overnight at the hotel
Day 2
Trip planning and Meeting with Team and Guide
After breakfast, We will have a briefing session about the trip. Our guide will describe the trek, geographic structure, custom and traditions and about the daily events: trek duration, attractions and share other information. We will also assist you with the trekking gears and help you navigate around stores in Thamel to get them. After the preparation, if time permits, we will do a little sightseeing around Kathmandu Durbar square and Thamel.
Day 3
Drive to Besisahar (760m, 7hrs)
On our first day we start our journey after having our breakfast, We take our drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar. It will take around 6 to 7 hour of drive. It’s a 175km of journey which takes you through breathtaking landscape along with Trisuli river and Marsyangdi river.
Day 4
Drive to chame (2650m, 6hrs)
After having our breakfast we take our ride to Chame which is 66 kilometers and it will take around 5-6 hours of drive through thrilling adventures and breathtaking views. The road goes along with Marsyangdi river passing through Syange village, Jagat, Chamche waterfall.
Day 5
Trek to Pisang (3300m, 6hrs trek)
On our fifth day of the journey, we embarked on a trek alongside the Marsyangdi River to reach Pisang, situated at an elevation of 3300 meters. This leg of the journey is expected to take approximately 6 hours of walking. We set off early in the morning, right after enjoying our breakfast. The trail winds through a landscape characterized by lush green forests and apple orchards. Along the way, we are treated to the breathtaking sight of Annapurna II to the South and Pisang Peak to the North. This path also grants us the opportunity to immerse ourselves in local traditions and culture. It's noteworthy that most of the locals here follow the Tibetan way of life.
Day 6
Trek to Manang (3500m, 7hrs trek)
After having our breakfast we start our hike to Manang which is at the elevation of 3500m and it will take around 7 hrs. After hiking for some minutes we will ascend through pine forest and cross several suspension bridges over Marsyangdi river. The trail goes through Tibetan settlements, and we get a chance to experience more about Buddhist culture and we get a chance to explore beautiful monasteries. Before we reach Manang we surpass different monasteries. One of them is the largest monastery in Manang, Barge Monastery.
Day 7
Acclimatization day
Acclimatization plays a key role in preparing our body for trekking in high altitude. As the elevation increases the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere also decreases. As we are climbing up to altitudes of more than 6000m in the coming days, resting at Manag helps us to acclimatize easily. The best way to acclimatize is walking at high altitude and sleeping at lower altitude. Early in the morning, After having our breakfast we will hike up to the Ice lake and spend the rest of the day enjoying the panoramic view.
Day 8
Trek to Ledder (4210m, 4hrs)
We will have delicious breakfast at the Manang lodge before departing from this charming village. The day's hike will lead us to Leder, where the trail offers breathtaking views of the hilly terrain, markedly distinct from the lower-altitude landscapes we've encountered. After approximately five hours on the trail, we will reach the lodge in Leder.
Day 9
Trek to Chulu West Base Camp (4400m, 5/6hrs)
The base camp of Chulu West Peak will be the trek’s destination today. The climb to base camp isn’t difficult, but the high altitude makes it difficult. Slowly make your way through the rocky terrain until you reach the breathtaking panorama of the base camp. From Chulu West Base Camp, the Annapurna massifs are majestic and stunning. Your guide will pitch a tent in the base camp, and the day will come to a close with a spectacular sunset over the Annapurna range.
Day 10
Trek to High Camp (4685m, 3/4 hrs)
The journey commences early in the morning to ensure your arrival at the high camp by noon, allowing ample time for recuperation and preparations for the next day's adventure. Starting from Base Camp, you will ascend the challenging and precarious rocky trail to Camp I. Here, you will employ ropes, crampons, and an ice axe to progress to higher elevations. Upon your arrival at High Camp, dedicated volunteers will set up the camp and prepare meals for you. At High Camp, it is essential to double-check your gear, engage in training exercises, and provide your weary limbs with some much-needed rest.
Day 11
Summit Chulu west peak (6419m), Trek back to Base Camp (4400m, 5/6hrs)
The much-anticipated day to conquer the magnificent Chulu West Peak has finally arrived following a strenuous and tiring trek. The commencement of the summit push journey occurs early in the morning. The snowy path leading to the summit is a steep and direct ascent. As we embark on the climb, we will follow the high-altitude icy trail towards the summit of Chulu West Peak.
The trail to the summit, although challenging to navigate, is far from dull. The breathtaking views of the towering Himalayan peaks are so captivating that they bedazzle the onlooker. Upon reaching the summit of Chulu West Peak, you will have the opportunity to relish spectacular vistas of the surrounding Himalayan landscape. Take a moment to absorb the summit's grandeur and capture some photographs. Following a brief respite, descend to Camp II and enjoy a half-hour break. Once you are sufficiently rested, pack your belongings and return to Camp I for an overnight stay.

Trek to Ledder (4210m, 6hrs)
The trek from Chulu West Peak Base Camp to Leder is a transition from the high-altitude, rugged terrain of the peak to a lower-altitude area. It provides an opportunity to rest, recuperate, and enjoy the changing landscape as you make your way back from the summit. Please note that the actual duration of this trek can vary based on individual pace, weather conditions, and other factors. It's essential to be well-prepared and have proper gear for both the ascent and descent of Chulu West Peak.
Day 14
Trek to Thorang high camp (4880m, 4hrs)
After having our breakfast, we started our hike to Thorang high camp, which is situated at an altitude of 4450m. The hike is expected to take around 4-5 hours. Along the way to Thorang high camp, we encounter several small tea houses, as the trail passes through the Thorang phedi .
Our hiking route for the day commences with a gradual ascent to a ridge. Subsequently, we begin a gentle descent and traverse a dramatic wooden bridge over the Marsyangdi river. Upon crossing the bridge, we ascend the mountains once again, followed by navigating a narrow trail along a slope. This trail eventually leads us to our final destination for the day, Thorang high camp
Day 15
Trek to Muktinath (3800m, 7/8hrs) via Thorong la pass (5416m)
Today, we set out on our hike early in the morning, taking the time to warm up our bodies, knowing that this day will be truly remarkable. On this day, we will conquer one of the highest passes in the world: the 'Thorang La Pass,' situated at an elevation of 5416m. This pass stands as the pinnacle of our trek, and the journey to reach Muktinath via the Thorang La Pass is estimated to take around 8 hours.
From the vantage point of Thorang La Pass, we are rewarded with the breathtaking, spectacular views of majestic Himalayan peaks. Gazing southward, the Annapurna range graces our sight. As we press forward through the crisp, icy air and the challenges of high altitude, we relish in the unparalleled beauty of these mountains and peaks.
Having successfully crossed one of the world's highest passes, the 'Thorang La Pass,' we begin our descent towards Muktinath—a revered destination for both Hindus and Buddhists. This sacred place boasts an array of temples and shrines, inviting exploration and reflection. Muktinath is nestled at an altitude of 3800m, providing a serene culmination to our journey.
Day 16
Trek to Jomsom (2500m, 5/6hrs)
This marks our final day of hiking, and fortunately, the trail ahead promises to be less challenging compared to yesterday's hiking. Our path leads us on a descent to Jomsom, situated at an elevation of 2720m. This descent is anticipated to take approximately 5 hours.
After several hours of hiking, we arrive at a significant locale known as Kagbeni. Renowned as a prominent religious site for Hindu pilgrims, Kagbeni holds special significance. Here, we will pause to enjoy our lunch before embarking on the last leg of our day's journey, ultimately reaching our final destination, Jomsom."
Day 17
Drive to Pokhara (800m, 8/9hrs)
Jomsom serves as the capital of Mustang district of Dhaulagiri zone. This charming small town is situated at an elevation of 2720m and is cradled amidst the majestic peaks of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Mt. Nilgiri. The village offers an opportunity to immerse oneself in Tibetan culture, as a significant portion of the community follows Tibetan cultural practices.
Today, following our breakfast, we embarked on a jeep ride to Pokhara. The journey spans 155 kilometers and is estimated to take approximately 7-8 hours, venturing through thrilling off-road paths and offering an adventure-filled experience.
Day 18
Rest day
Pokhara is one of the popular cities in Nepal. Despite being at an altitude of 800m, The Mountains are only 20 kms air distance from here, and the city offers an amazing view of the Annapurna mountain range. There are many places for sightseeing and the city is a hub for different adventure activities. The Phewa Lakeside is also popular for the Night life. There are many pubs, bars, clubs, restaurants and hotels. As we have just completed the treacherous trek, we can rest the whole day and go out to experience the nightlife or you can opt out for sightseeing or participate in adventure activities like Paragliding, zip line, Bungy, Hikes or others.
Day 19
Drive to kathmandu (7/8hrs)
Early in the morning after having our breakfast we will drive back to kathmandu leaving behind all the annapurna range mountains but carrying the beautiful memories of the Peak Summit. It will take around 7/8 hours to drive to reach Kathmandu.
Day 20
Leisure/ Departure, Transfer to Airport
If you have an Extra day and want to travel to more places in Nepal, we will assist to entertain your further stay. Or If you have a departing flight from Nepal, Our team will accompany you to the airport.
