Machhhapuchre Model trek also known as khumai danda trek is an emerging trekking destination in Annapurna region. Located just few trekking days away from Pokhara, the trek covers seven major villages rich in cultures and traditions. The maximum altitude is 3682m at korchon peak.

The route also provides the scenic mountain view of Mt. Machhapuchre. Hiunchuli, Mardi himal and other Annapurna range mountains. The trekking duration varies from 6 days to 11 days from Kathmandu/Pokhara.

Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival in Nepal, Transfer to Hotel

Upon your arrival at the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by our representative. After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc), pick up your luggage and look for our representative with the Altitude Trails & Adventures display board at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to your hotel, nearby Thamel as per your requirement. Thamel has great food from all over the world, fabulous shopping and Durbar square with its several temples and markets are nearby Thamel. Overnight at the hotel

Day 2

Trip preparation and meeting with guide

After breakfast, We will have a briefing session about the trip. Our guide will describe the trek, geographic structure, custom and traditions and about the daily events: trek duration, attractions and share other information. We will also assist you with the trekking gears and help you navigate around stores in Thamel to get them. After the preparation, we will do a little sightseeing around Kathmandu Durbar square and Thamel. If time permits, we will visit Pashupatinath temple to see aarti.

Day 3

Drive to Pokhara (200kms, approx. 6 hrs drive)

There are two ways to reach Pokhara from Kathmandu: one by air and the other by road. If you choose the road option, it is 200 kms and takes around 7-8 hours to travel from Kathmandu to reach Pokhara. On the way you will pass through Malekhu, Mailung, Bimal Nagar, etc. Along the way, you can enjoy the view of the fast-flowing Trisuli River. Another option is to travel by air, which will save time. The flight from Tribhuvan International Airport to Pokhara Airport takes approximately 30 minutes.

Day 4

Drive to hyamja, Trek to Hile via Ghachok (2160m) (approx. 6 hrs.)

Today, after having our breakfast, we will head to our destination. We will take a drive to Hemja, which will be approximately a 1-hour drive. After reaching Hemja, we will trek to Hile at an elevation of 2160 meters, which will take around 6 hours. On the way, we will cross the Seti Gandaki River and trek along the Seti River. After trekking for 3 hours, we will reach a place called Ghachok. Ghachok is a small village that rewards you with amazing Himalayan views of the Annapurna range. The trail from Ghachok to Hile is frequently uphill. We will trek through the lush forest of Rhododendron. After trekking for around 3 hours from Ghachok, we will reach Hile, where we will stay overnight.

Day 5

Trek to Khumai Danda (3245m) (approx. 6-7 hrs.)

After having breakfast, we will continue our trek to Khumai Danda at an elevation of 3245 meters, which will take around 6-7 hours. The trail is frequently uphill. Along the way, we will experience diverse communities and their unique settlements. The trail to Khumai Danda is a little bit challenging, with narrow paths covered in grassy hills. The trail passes through dense forest. After trekking for 6-7 hours, we will reach Khumai Danda, which offers stunning views of Mt. Machhapuchre, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri.

Day 6

Trek to Meshrom Kharka (2690m), via Korchon peak (3682m)

On the 6th day, we will start our trek early in the morning to Meshrom Kharka via Korchan Peak. Korchan Peak is the highest point of this trek, standing at an elevation of 3682 meters. Kochan Danda offers us a majestic sunrise view and vistas of the Himalayas. We can enjoy a panoramic view of Mardi, Annapurna, and Machhapuchre. From Korchan to Meshrom Kharka, the trail frequently descends through lush forests of rhododendron, pine, and oak. After trekking for 6-7 hours, we will reach Meshrom Kharka, where we will stay overnight.

Day 7

Trek to Tokro (1450m), Drive to Pokhara (approx. 5/6 hrs. trek, 2-3 hours drive)

Today is our last day of the Machhapuchre Model Trek. We will trek to Tokro, which will take around 5-6 hours. From Tokro, we will take a drive to Pokhara. We will begin our trek after having breakfast, passing through a lush forest of Rhododendron. Upon reaching Tokro, we will take a break and then embark on a 2-3 hour drive to Pokhara. Once we arrive in Pokhara, we will explore some parts of the city.

Day 8

Drive to Kathmandu

Early in the morning after having our breakfast we will drive back to kathmandu leaving behind all the annapurna range mountains but carrying the beautiful memories of the trek. It will take around 7/8 hours to drive to reach kathmandu.

Day 9

Leisure/ Departure, Transfer to Airport

If you have an Extra day and want to travel to more places in Nepal, we will assist to entertain your further stay. Or If you have a departing flight from Nepal, Our team will accompany you to the airport.
